Charlestown Prevails In O.T.

Well, this game said two things to this writer: 1.) There is no such thing as a guaranteed dub in the Boston City League, regardless of what some observers might think. 2.) Don't EVER count Madison Park out in their own building.....or anywhere else for that matter. Charlestown (undefeated in the City League at that point) appeared to be well on their way of repeating their previous performance against the Cardinals of MP, before at some point in the 4rth quarter, someone let the dogs out so to speak. This relatively young MP squad went on a run that saw them overcome a double digit deficit and gain a lead near the very end of regulation.
Charlestown pulled away in overtime and showed why they are perhaps the best team in the city, but MP deserves an awful lot of credit for the fight they put up as well. R.J..
