Boston's High School Football Players Get Iced Out Of Gillette,Again!

The annual Shriner's high school all star football game will once again be played this June at Gillette Stadium. The game features the 100 top high school seniors in Massachusetts. What bothers me is that out of that 100,only one player attending a Boston Public School (Boston Latin School ) will be playing in the game. Well, the last time I checked Boston Latin plays in the Dual County League which is made up of several suburban teams. Therefore ,there will be NO Boston City League student- athletes on the rosters. That is a shame. I realize that the Shriners have every right to invite (or not invite) any player it wishes,BUT,nobody who knows anything about the 2010 season can honestly say that players such as Brandon Campbell of East Boston High or John D. O'Bryant High's Omari Alfred, just to name a couple, are not in the Top 50 of high school football players in The Commonwealth. I also realize that this game is a fundraiser of sorts so if in fact the criteria for being invited to play in this game is based on how much money a player ,his school,or his conference can raise before being invited, than I wish that would be made clear to the public as well as perspective student-athletes.
