Fenway Moves On To Final!

The Fenway High Lady Panthers took a 10 point lead with 2:16 left in the game and never relinquished it as they defeated Matignon High this evening 61-51 at Malden High's Roy G. Finn Gymnasium. The Panthers backcourt, powered by sophomore guard Kyala Cox (26 points) and freshman point guard Tajanay Veiga-Lee (20 points) constantly kept their opponent off balance all evening with tremendous ball-handling and 3 point shooting. After spotting Matignon an early 6-0 lead the Panthers regrouped and went to the locker room with a 27-25 lead at the half. Fenway now moves on to a Saturday contest versus the winner of the 2nd game held in Malden tonight (Manchester Essex) for the Division 4 North Championship. That game will be played at Emmanuel College. Sonofcodmansquare is extremely proud and fortunate to have witnessed tonight's game. The entire City of Boston should be applaud these young ladies as well as the entire athletic staff at Fenway for a job WELL DONE!!! Goodnight everyone, and God bless!
