Hello Everyone. The Dorchester High Bears overcame a sluggish first half on the offensive side of the ball and managed to capatilize on J.E. Burke's turnovers on their way to a hardfought 14-0 victory at White Stadium Thursday. The much improved Bulldawgs from Burke were dealt a couple of questionable blows from the officials as well.Burke had not only a touchdown called back because of a hold, but a touchback that featured a premature whistle. Overall, the Bears outslugged their opponents late in the game, after going into haltime tied 0-0. Team depth was a factor as well as the Burke just doesn't have the numbers at this stage to rotate enough fresh players in and out of games. An exiting pick 6 proved to be the difference.
Congratulations to Dorchester High on their victory. That being said, alot of credit and admiration must also go to the Burke players and coaches. They've come a long way in a short time. They play hard every down and show no signs of quitting. It's hard to put into words, but if you watch this team play for 4 quarters you can't help but to notice that their coaching staff has laid down a strong foundation that shows an abundance of promise.
